Houmt Souk town is the capital of Djerba Island in Tunisia. The name of Houmt Souk can be literally translated as “market neighborhood”. Souk is a traditional Tunisian market, where you can buy almost everything you can imagine. The population of Houmt Souk is about 45,000 people, but during the tourist season it rises dramatically.
